Manchester City

Why the signing of this 34-year-old could bring Manchester City home the title this season

It’s set to be a summer of change down at the Etihad as a slightly under-pressure Pep Guardiola begins building his squad for the upcoming Premier League and Champions League campaigns.

The Citizens struggled to keep pace with their rivals for much of the season last time out and the City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are expecting a much bigger push of it this time around.

Pep hasn’t held back in the transfer market either, already bringing in Monaco winger Bernardo Silva and Benfica goalkeeper Ederson.

But there’s one man that we think would bring a real amount of quality to the City side this season and that’s veteran full-back Dani Alves.

The Brazilian right-back has now left Juventus after talk linking him with a move to the Premier League to link back up with Guardiola, whom he worked with during his time at Barcelona.

Alves remains in the form of his career despite getting on just a little bit and there’s every thought that he’s still good enough to compete with those at the highest level in England.

Quick, forward-thinking and probably most importantly, experienced, Alves is a player that would bring a little bit of everything to City if he did make the move.

Granted, they might only get two years out of him at this level but right now, Pep must be thinking short-term.

City need success sooner rather than later and a player like Alves might be able to help them do just that.

City fans- would this be a good third signing at the Etihad? Leave your thoughts down below!
