Why this future Premier League star has every right to ditch Leicester this summer

It’s been a year of realism for Leicester City after their stunning title win in the 2015-2016 campaign.

The Foxes secured arguably one of the most exciting Premier League titles we’ve seen in history as they shocked supporters up and down the world, winning the crown in stunning fashion.

An arguably quieter season last time around followed and Claudio Ranieri faced the axe as his side failed to keep up with the brilliant performances we saw the season before.

There’s one player who didn’t play a massive roll in that title win despite signing in January and that’s pacy winger Demarai Gray, who signed from Birmingham City.

Rated seriously highly by the Blues faithful down at St Andrews, the youngster didn’t manage to make a serious impression on the management during that campaign or the last and there are now big doubts surrounding his future after he was linked with a move to both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

He struggled for game-time over the past season and despite impressing in the England U21s set-up all summer and voicing his disappointment, he’s been told to remain patient by current manager Craig Shakespeare.

But for a player who is showing so much promise and a man that would probably get first-team minutes elsewhere at this level, he’s a man that doesn’t deserve to sit on the bench all season-long, especially after his performances this summer.

If he’s sitting on the bench at Leicester City, then he might as well make the step up to Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur to sit on the bench there too.

He’s a young man with an extremely bright future ahead but at his age, he needs to be playing regular football to continue his development.

Leicester0 you might not be able to wait on Gray quite as much as you think.

Leicester fans- how highly do you rate Gray? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
