Liverpool haven’t been at their best in recent times in the Premier League, despite securing all three points against Bournemouth yesterday.
The Reds currently find themselves sitting three points clear at the top of the Premier League table, with Manchester City set to welcome Chelsea to the Etihad later on today.
Sadly, Liverpool’s recent results have allowed Pep Guardiola’s side to creep back into the title picture, which comes as a big blow as the Citizens have looked dominant recently.
Indeed, with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Virgil Van Dijk constantly being tipped as the men to watch for Liverpool, perhaps these TWO players will become the Reds’ unlikely PL title heroes…
Andy Robertson has been influential for the Reds this season as one of their standout performers in the Premier League, with six assists to his name up until this point.
The Scotsman has been as solid as a rock at the back and he plays as bigger part as any other attacker in the final third, with his crosses constantly causing problems in the opposition’s box.
So, his ability to influence the game both in attacking and defensive areas could prove crucial from here on in until the end of the season, with a number of touch challenges still to come.
Georginio Wijnaldum has been one of the shining lights for Liverpool in the current campaign but he often goes under the radar due to the Reds’ dangerous front three.
The Dutchman is a joy to have in the middle of midfield as he executes the simple things perfectly, with his pace and passing ability working wonders in the final third, as well as his tackling ability helping him get the better of the opposition in defensive areas. And, he managed to find the back of the net yesterday with a delightful chip.
So, with his work rate being second to none, he will be sure to give his all until the title rocks up at Anfield.
