The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story in The Daily Mail that claims the Citizens are closing in on a deal for Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez. The Algerian livewire is set to cost the club a sum of around £75 million, although, for the fans, it’ll all be worth it as the 27-year star will slot into the club’s midfield, providing respite for both Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling who have had a lot of responsibility this season.

Mahrez would be a fantastic signing for any club on the planet. Unfortunately for the likes of every Premier League club that isn’t Manchester City though, he’s moving to The Etihad. The Leicester City superstar has been in mesmerising form this season, scoring 12 Premier League goals and assisting a further 11 in his 36 appearances for the Foxes this year, making him one of the league’s most dangerous players.
Manchester City could be seeing their young English winger, Patrick Roberts, departing Manchester and making the 110 mile trip south to the King Power, although the deals are currently being negotiated separately. However, with Leicester interested in the City youngster, it should make negotiations easier for the Sky Blues in their pursuit of the 2015/16 Premier League champions wantaway star.

Pay them the money. Will be the best player in the league next year.
