The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for Pochettino to start signing some new players before it is too late.
It was close, but no cigar again for Tottenham last season as they finished runners up to Chelsea in the race for the Premier League title.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be raring to go on the opening weekend of the 2016/17 campaign as they have been given a kinder draw then perhaps they could have been.
Spurs will head up to St James’ Park to face Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle and they will want to get their title chase off to a good start.
So far in this summer’s transfer window, Pochettino is yet to bring in any new faces to the club with the most notable transfer involving the club being them selling Kyle Walker to Manchester City.
Just because no new players have joined the club it does not mean first team players from last season are guaranteed their place back in the side.
They’ll need to fight for it.
With that being said, here are two Tottenham players who are not guaranteed a start against Newcastle.
