Winger swap deal on the cards for United?

rodriguez.jpgIt has only been a couple of days here at the Football Transfer Tavern since we were discussing the future of Manchester United ace Nani and now it has been claimed in Metro that a swap deal could be on the cards for the player.

Sir Alex Ferguson is apparently making eyes at up and coming Porto winger James Rodriguez and has sent his best scouts to look at the player. Nani of course has been struggling at the club this term and as many people have said, has never really lived up to the tag of being the next Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite egotistically having a life-sized statue of himself in his house, Nani’s form has been inconsistent of late and it seems that according to Metro, Fergie has finally had enough.

Rodriguez is considered one of the hottest young footballers around at the minute and Porto would not let him go easily, however Fergie believes that a swap deal involving his Portuguese winger may be the Red Devils best option in terms of landing the youngster.

Colombian international Rodriguez is only 20-years-old and is a prime candidate for Fergie in the summer despite the arrival of Wilfried Zaha as he looks to keep shaking up his squad and keep the players on their toes in order to not only compete with the best in the Premier League but also in Europe.

Could such a swap deal come off between Nani and Rodriguez? Would Nani be tempted by a move back home? Rate this rumour below.
