Wolverhampton Wanderers star Adama Traore wants to leave Molineux this month, according to reports.
Traore to reunite with Orta?
The 24-year-old’s future has been uncertain for some time, with the likes of Liverpool and Barcelona linked with his services in recent weeks (via Goal).
Eurosport have claimed that Traore has now had a fallout with Wolves during his contract negotiations and as such, he could be available for £50m during the current window.
The report added that director of football at Leeds United, Victor Orta, who knows the Spain international well thanks to his time at Middlesbrough, is leading the charge to take him to Elland Road. The option of staggered payments could be a deciding factor on whether Nuno Espirito Santo’s side choose to sell Traore.
Transfer Tavern Verdict
It could be an unusual move for Traore to take if he made the move to Marcelo Bielsa’s side, considering he was previously described as “unplayable” by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and with links to the Reds and Barcelona, a move to Leeds could be seen as a backwards step.
Despite this, his relationship with Orta could be a deciding factor if he does decide to leave Wolves at some point during the next four weeks.
Time will tell what Wolves decide to do, as with a lot of games still to play during the 2020/21 campaign and with the financial state of world football still very much uncertain, they may need to think long and hard about selling a high-profile player.
