Wolverhampton Wanderers have been surprising everybody this summer with their transfer business and could be about to continue that trend with their latest target.
Nuno Espirito Santo has been looking to strengthen his squad following their promotion from the Championship and with the additions he has already made, his side could be competing for more than just Premier League survival.
The Molineux outfit have added the likes of Rui Patricio, Raul Jimenez and Joao Moutinho to their ranks, as well as completing permanent deals for many of last season’s loan stars, however, it is thought the former Porto boss is still in the transfer market for new faces.
Pepe has been linked with a move to the Premier League new-boys, however, the latest name would come as a surprise, despite being considered a star of the game in Asia.
According to a report in The Express and Star, Wolves are considering a move for China star Wu Lei, although it stresses a move could be on hold at the moment as he suffered a serious injury in his match for Shanghai SIPG.
Wolves are thought to be in the market for another attacker and the China international could be a huge coup for the club.
It is no secret that Wu Lei could help build Wolves’ brand in Asia, with the help of their Chinese backers, however, he is an extremely talented player that has considered a venture into European football before.
He is Shanghai’s record goalscorer, with over 150 strikes and has gone on to make over 300 appearances for the Chinese Super League outfit, again making a record for the club.
