Wolves edging closer to deal for Oleksandr Zinchenko

Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to continue their transfer business as they enter the final day of the window.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have already made a number of quality additions as they prepare for their first season back in the Premier League in six years.

The former Porto manager has brought a Portuguese contingent to Molineux this summer, with the likes of Joao Moutinho and Rui Patricio already joining the club, however, he could be about to bring a young talent that has already experienced top-flight football to the club.

According to The Daily Mirror’s live transfer blog, Wolves are set to sign Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko, with the player due to undergo a medical on Thursday.

It is believed the newly-promoted side have agreed to a deal with the Premier League champions worth £16million.

The Verdict:

Zinchenko should prove to be an excellent addition for Wolves this summer as he will immediately improve the side.

The Ukrainian was a playmaker in his days prior to joining Manchester City, however, Pep Guardiola has added the ability to play full-back to the 21-year-old’s repository.

Zinchenko is expected to have a bright future in the game and Wolves will be delighted to have landed the Premier League winner after a lengthy pursuit.
