Wolverhampton Wanderers fans in The Transfer Tavern are discussing reports that the club could be set to make a January move for a Premier League youngster.
The Chronicle is reporting that the Championship side have held talks with Newcastle United over a loan move for Adam Armstrong.
The youngster, who has made 19 appearances for the Premier League, is currently on loan at League One side Coventry City.
Armstrong has been a key player in Tony Mowbray’s side which currently sits fourth in League One.
The 18-year-old has scored 12 goals in 14 appearances at The Ricoh Arena, and his club manager Steve McClaren has been impressed with youngsters progress so far at Coventry. Speaking about Armstrong, McClaren said:
“I have spoken to Tony Mowbray and he is teaching him the right way and the right things. So he is in good hands. January is a long way away. We haven’t yet focuses on where he will be come January, just at the present.”
“We have a few players out on loan. Adam is just one of them. He’s doing well, and I am pleased.”
The Coventry City fans in The Transfer Tavern are devastated at the news they could be set to lose the striker in January, and hope the reports are false and they can extend their loan agreement with Newcastle until the end of the season.
