Many Wolves fans have been talking about a tweet from Tim Spiers that he recently posted on social media.
Spiers’ tweet related to Nuno Santo’s comments about Leander Dendoncker. The Wolves boss talked about the Belgian, saying that he is ‘very valuable’ for the side and he also described him as a ‘top player’. Santo also heaped praise on the player for offering a lot to his side.
Is Dendoncker Wolves' most underrated player?
Dendoncker hasn’t featured for Wolves in their last four Premier League games as the 25-year-old’s last appearance came against Chelsea back in December. He had been out of action after picking up a knock, but featured for Wolves against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.
The 25-year-old has picked up an average rating of 6.76 in the Premier League this season and as a result of that, he has been the club’s eighth-best rated player in the current league campaign (as per Whoscored).
Santo has previously praised Dendoncker for being a hard worker. He once said: “I’m very, very happy for Leander. I’m happy for the team, but especially for Leander as he’s a fantastic footballer and hard worker.
“He gives us so much. So, to have this moment is important for him – and important for us. And we keep on going – keep on going.”
The tweet from Spiers that carried the Wolves boss’ comments about Dendoncker caught the attention of many fans, who were buzzing.
What did Wolves fans make of these comments from Nuno Santo?
“Second to Jonny as the most underrated players in our squad. Massive void to fill in midfield when he’s missing.”
“No coincidence that people are commenting on how well Joao and Ruben are playing now that Donck is back…”
“The absolute kingpin of the midfield..some supporters only see the flair players but the work and snuffing out he does is priceless.”
“If you could add finishing to his game he would be a complete midfielder. He’s so important to the team.“
