Many Wolves fans have been lauding an update from Tim Spiers about their club’s pursuit of Luka Jovic from Real Madrid.
Writing for The Athletic, the football journalist has revealed that Nuno Espirito Santo’s team have made an official enquiry to take the Serbia international on loan in the January transfer window for the rest of the 2020/21 term.
Should Wolves sign Jovic?
He also confirmed that a move for Liverpool striker Divock Origi is now less likely, but it was the enquiry made about Jovic that really got a lot of Wanderers fans buzzing.
With no fewer than 60 senior career goals for both club and country over his footballing career so far (Transfermarkt), the 23-year-old is more than capable of easing off the goal scoring burden in Raul Jimenez’s absence, and may well turn out to be a shrewd signing by the Midlands club.
Wolves fan reaction to Jovic enquiry
These members of the Molineux faithful lauded the enquiry made about the forward on Twitter, with one WWFC supporter even claiming that his signing would be ‘class’:
“If Nuno can transform him back into the player he was 2 years ago would be a great signing. Was one of the best up and coming strikers in the world before been benched at Madrid. Still only 23 so hopefully the best is yet to come.”
“What a signing this would be!”
“Finisher. Been compared to Davor Suker.”
“Would be a massive signing”
“This would be class”
“Need Uncle Jorge to work his magic if a deal is gonna happen. If Jovic can find his mojo and we get the player from Frankfurt 2yrs ago it would be one hell of a signing.”
