Wolves fans on Twitter couldn’t have been happier after avenging Watford Wembley woes - Premier League

Wolves fans have had it so good this season for the most part. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side could have been looking forward to an FA Cup final against Manchester City had they been able to overcome Watford at Wembley, but lost 3-2 in a thriller. That gave yesterday’s game some more fire to it, as Wolves won 2-1 away at Watford.

As wins go, it will have been an incredibly satisfying one for the travelling fans and once again they were left in awe of their strike partnership of Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez. The Mexican-Portuguese combo scored a goal each, with Raul in the first half and Jota in the second, as they won 2-1, and Javi Gracia’s side could do little to stop them as they continue their push for 7th spot.

That now means that exactly one year after the West Midlands club got their hands on the Championship trophy, they’ve found themselves three points clear of 8th placed Leicester in 7th and look destined to secure a Europa League spot should Manchester City down what they did yesterday and beat Watford. Getting into Europe is truly an incredible achievement and one that the fans should be proud of should they make it, especially considering the FA Cup semi-final setback they had.

Wolves fans can be forgiven for getting so excited over this win, as not only was it sweet revenge for their Wembley woes, but it’s taken them one step closer to Europe.
