It was an exciting return to life in the Premier League for Wolves yesterday after they drew 2-2 with Everton at Molineux.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men came from behind twice to ensure the points would be shared between the two sides.

And while the Portuguese coach would have been pleased with his team’s performance, the game might have felt like an opportunity missed with Wolves having played the entire of the second half with an extra man after Phil Jagielka’s dismissal in the 40th minute.

Nevertheless, there were more positives than negatives to take away from the match for Nuno, including the performance of Raul Jimenez.

The £13.5m-rated (via Transfermarkt) Mexican striker, who was making his debut for the club, drew his side level in the 80th minute with a brilliant header after Richarlison had put Everton 2-1 up on 67 minutes.

Richarlison was also the one to open up the scoring before Ruben Neves equalised with a fantastic free-kick on the stroke of half-time. And while the pair will take most of the plaudits, Jimenez is also deserving of some praise and not just for his goal.

The Mexico international’s overall centre-forward display was good, which a lot of the time, had not been the case at his previous clubs Benfica and Atletico Madrid.
