Wolves: Fans react to prospect of signing Leonardo Campana

Wolves have enjoyed a solid first half of the season under Nuno Espirito Santo, well placed to challenge for the European places in the Premier League.

They sit seventh, just six points off the top four in the Premier League, a gap they failed to close while falling to defeat against struggling Watford.

The season started back in July, competing in the qualifying rounds for the Europa League; they’ll face Espanyol in the knockout stages of that tournament.

Indeed, their squad has been stretched thin, so it’s unsurprising that they’re looking to add to their ranks in the January transfer window.

Their latest target, according to Sky Sports’ Anton Toloui, is Barcelona SC striker Leonardo Campana.

The 19-year-old forward would go into the club’s youth setup and join their under-23 side, rather than offering competition to the likes of Raul Jimenez, Diogo Jota and Patrick Cutrone. Outside of Jimenez, neither of those names have scored over 3 goals this season and Adama Traore is the second top goalscorer on 4, so it’s fair to say Wolves fans might be justified in wanting a ready-made talent to come in and help on that front.
