Wolverhampton Wanderers appear to have managed to have established themselves as a solid Premier League side this season.
Nuno Espirito Santo has taken his side to seventh in the table in a hugely successful first campaign in the top-flight following promotion last year.
The Portuguese manager managed to make a number of impressive additions to his squad in the summer with the help of ‘super agent’ Jorge Mendes and it appears he could be about to enlist his help in trying to sign their most ambitious target yet.
According to a report by TeamTALK, it is claimed Wolves are keen to use their relationship with the football agent to try and sign Benfica’s Joao Felix.
The 19-year-old has been a standout for the Portuguese side this season since breaking into their first-team and his performances have not gone unnoticed, with a number of clubs keen on the teenager.
He has seven goals to his name in 13 matches, however, the release clause in his contract stands at €120million, which equates to around £105m.
Wolves are understood to try and convince Benfica to sell him for a significantly lower value and will offer them a huge sell-on clause should he move on from Molineux in the future.
Trying to bring Felix to Molineux will be one of Wolves’ most ambitious transfers to date, however, it would be silly to rule any such move from happening.
Nuno has already managed to bring the likes of Joao Moutinho, Rui Patricio and Ruben Neves to the club, whilst Raul Jimenez is on loan from Benfica already with the help of Mendes, so they could look to use that relationship to push a deal through for the teenager.
What is for certain though, is that Benfica will not want to lose their star and with a number of clubs interested, it could be an extremely difficult task for Wolves to accomplish.
