If you had to take one thing away from what has been an impressive campaign for Wolverhampton Wanderers this season, it would have to be their lack of creativity in the final third at times.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have lacked that final killer-pass when going forward in some of their matches, costing them points, however, it appears that they could be about to address that problem in the summer.
What’s the News?
According to a report by Le10Sport (in their video), Wolves are understood to have made a ‘verbal offer’ to Marseille for Morgan Sanson.
It is claimed the Premier League side have offered the Ligue 1 side €42million (£36.2m) for the midfielder as the French outfit may be forced to sell because of Financial Fair Play regulations.
Sanson would be an excellent signing for Wolves and would certainly be a man that could bring that added creativity the club have been missing at times throughout the campaign.
With an eye for goal, the 24-year-old also has the ability to provide his team-mates with assists as well, having managed to notch four apiece this season for Marseille.
The Frenchman is not scared of taking on long-range shots and is more than happy to get further forward when required, whilst he is equally delighted to help out when his team are on defending.
Sanson is an excellent tackler of the ball, can track back and make vital interceptions to help out his backline which makes him a player who could take the Molineux outfit to the next level if he were to join in the summer.
A ‘verbal offer’ may not necessarily mean too much at the moment, however, it will be interesting to see if it is acted upon in the next few months, as £36.2m could be a good price to pay for a player of his quality.
But, who would Nuno have to drop in his current squad to see Sanson fit in? Ruben Neves, Leander Dendoncker and Joao Moutinho have all been playing rather well this season and have all made important contributions.
At least that is a decision that Nuno would have to make and not the Wolves fans.
