Wolverhampton Wanderers have enjoyed a lot of success in bringing players from Portugal’s top-flight to Molineux in recent years.
And, it appears as though Nuno Espirito Santo could be about to replicate that transfer model once again in January.
The Japan international, who has also been the subject of interest from Southampton and Leicester City recently, is thought to be closing in on a deal worth around €20million.
Nakajima has been a standout with his performances in the Primeira Liga this season and Portimonense are understood to be resigned to losing their star player in January.
Wolves have already added the likes of Ruben Neves, Rui Patricio, Raul Jimenez, Joao Moutinho, Helder Costa and Diogo Jota from Portuguese clubs and look likely to add Nakajima to that list.
The 24-year-old has been impressive for Portimonense this year, having netted five times, whilst also providing his team-mates with four assists in the process.
A Bola have claimed that the Japan international has a release clause in his contract worth €40m, however, if Wolves are able to land him for half that, it could be some excellent business for Nuno and the Molineux outfit.
