Wolverhampton Wanderers have been shocking a lot of the football world this summer as they have made a number of coups to improve their side.
The Molineux outfit have already signed the likes of Rui Patricio and Raul Jimenez, whilst Joao Moutinho is also expected to arrive in the very near future, turning them into a competitive force.
Nuno Espirito Santo will have wanted to make sure his squad is ready for the upcoming Premier League season, something those additions would have definitely helped with, however, his next target could be the most ambitious yet.
According to a report in The Express and Star, the former Porto manager is looking at bringing Pepe to England’s top-flight. The former Real Madrid star, who now plays his football in Turkey with Besiktas, is thought to be high on Wolves’ list of transfer targets.
The report also suggests that the club are confident of securing deals in the next few days, although it remains to be seen if the veteran defender will be one of those to join up with the Portuguese contingent.
Despite the reputation that precedes him, Pepe is a talented centre-back that would certainly help to improve this Wolves side ahead of the Premier League season.
The Portugal international, who featured for his country at this summer’s World Cup, has proven that he can play at the highest level and won a number of accolades during his time in Spain with Real Madrid.
The 35-year-old would be a cause for concern for some though, not just with his age, but the moments of madness he appears to have on the pitch all a bit too often for some.
