Wolves: Jamie Redknapp makes huge claim about Pedro Neto

Former Premier League star Jamie Redknapp believes that Wolves forward Pedro Neto can go “right to the top” in football.
Neto lauded
The 20-year-old shone for the Black Country club as they managed to salvage a point against high-flying Tottenham on Sunday, thanks to a late equaliser from Romain Saiss during their 1-1 draw.
Neto played the full 90 minutes for the hosts and produced an impressive display, acquiring a match rating of 7.44 with three key passes, three dribbles and a pass success rate of 88.4% (Whoscored).
Speaking to Sky Sports after the full-time whistle (cited by Birmingham Mail), Redknapp said that he thinks that great things are on the horizon for Neto.
“I think he is going to be a world star,” he said. “He is 20 years of age and I can’t think of too many better players under 20 than him, he has got all the attributes to go right to the top.
“He is sensational on the ball, he has got a real presence and size when he moves with the ball, he loves to face people up, go one-on-one, go either way as well – such a talent, he really is.
“There was a moment right at the end of the game where the ‘keeper got it and threw it out to him and you could see the frustration, this is a young man who looks like he just loves football.”
Transfer Tavern Verdict
Wolves fans will be delighted to hear this. Not only is Neto emerging to be an exciting talent, but his attacking prowess is proving to be hugely beneficial to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
The Portugal international recently signed a new five-year contract at Molineux, which will be the cherry on their gold and black cake, having scored nine goals and provided seven assists from his first 60 appearances (TransferMarkt).
Neto, who earns £50k-per-week at Wolves, still has a long career ahead of him – and Nuno will have to do everything in his power to keep prying eyes away from him.
