Wolverhampton Wanderers are thought to be interested in signing Joelinton this summer, according to a report by Kicker.
The German media outlet have claimed on their Transfer Ticker (Thursday 11th July) that Wolves are believed to be one of several sides keen on the TSG Hoffenheim forward.
Kicker do not name any other clubs in their report, nor do they suggest how much the Premier League outfit would have to pay should they look to sign the Brazilian forward.
The Bundesliga outfit are in a strong position though should an offer come their way, as Joelinton recently signed a new deal in November which runs until 2022 (Kicker).
However, they do point out to the club’s owner’s Fosun and infer that money might not be a problem if they were to make a move for the 22-year-old this summer.
Joelinton has certainly seen his stock rise over the last 12 months as he managed to achieve some encouraging figures in his first full campaign with Hoffenheim.
The 22-year-old Brazilian was in fine form for the Bundesliga outfit last season, recording 11 goals in his 35 matches across all competitions. (Transfermarkt).
As Transfermarkt point out, he can play in a number of different areas in the final third of the pitch, which could benefit Wolves hugely, although his main position as a centre-forward would benefit Nuno much more.
The Molineux outfit only really have Raul Jimenez as a recognised striker and considering they use a 4-4-2 formation, adding a natural forward to the team could help them. Diogo Jota had been used as a forward, however, his main position would be on the left-hand side of the pitch, judging by the fact he’s played there 89 times in his career.
And, with the traits that WhoScored have highlighted, Joelinton could offer so much to the team on the pitch as well. The South American is said to be strong with his hold up play, whilst his passing play is also considered a strength of his and linking up with Jimenez could provide them with more goals.
