Wolverhampton Wanderers managed to score a last-gasp winner to secure a 4-3 victory over Leicester City at Molineux on Saturday, which has put them in eighth position.
The Midlands club will be looking to get at least one deal over the line at some point this month, with a couple of improvements required in the side at this moment in time.
It looks as if Nuno Espirito is looking to make use of Jorge Mendes’ links, as according to The Daily Mirror’s live transfer blog (Saturday January 19th, 23:12) (via This is Futbol), Wolves are keen on signing Pele.
Interestingly, Pele’s agent Jorge Mendes could prove to be key to any move to Wolves and it’s thought that he wants to move his client on from Monaco due to a lack of playing time.
Indeed, the Guinea-Bissau international, who is currently valued at £5.4 million (by Transfermarkt), could provide solid back-up cover for Wolves in the middle of midfield.
Wolverhampton Wanderers should arguably be looking at securing players in other positions to strengthen on the field, rather than moving for a player who wouldn’t be able to knock the likes of Leander Dendoncker, Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves off their perch.
Nevertheless, he could provide valuable cover if one of the three midfielders were to suffer an injury.
