Wolverhampton Wanderers fans in the Transfer Tavern can look forward to playing in the Premier League next season after being crowned Championship champions.
Last summer’s £50m transfer haul saw the likes of Ruben Neves and Diego Jota join the club and both were hugely influential in Wolves’ successful promotion bid. Thanks to the help of super-agent Jorge Mendes, they are set for another massive summer. Reinforcements are necessary if they are to avoid going back to the Championship.
While many big names have been rumoured due to Mendes’ contacts, Wolves would be smart to look at some bargains as well. One man who seems destined to leave in the summer is Leicester City defender – Robert Huth. Following a season plagued with injuries, the German is set to depart on a free transfer.
At 33-years-old, he has plenty of Premier League experience including three winners medals from his time with Chelsea and the Foxes. His knowledge would be invaluable to Nuno Espirito Santo as they look to stay in the division. He is valued at £4.5m by Transfermarkt. While he may not be a starter, his presence would no doubt benefit the likes of Willy Boly and Conor Coady.
For free, this one is a no-brainer.
