Wolves need to ensure Premier League outcast is their’s ASAP to keep title surge up

Wolverhampton Wanderers appear to be steaming towards the Championship crown this season, with Nuno Santo’s side miles clear at the top of the table.

The Portuguese boss has completely turned things around at Molineux, and although many will accredit his success to the money available to him in the transfer market, the former Porto boss has still invested wisely, and put together a team capable of playing beautiful football. Fans of the Black Country side here in The Transfer Tavern are having the time of their lives this term, and always pay us a visit when Wolves are in town for a match. Our landlord caught up with a particularly boisterous bunch to chat about the transfer window, and if they needed any more signings this month to get them over the line. Fans are keen for another striker, and want nothing more than to see Benik Afobe return to the club in the coming weeks.

The 24-year-old Bournemouth man was a popular figure at Molineux where he scored goals for fun, and currently out of favour on the south coast, could be open to a return to his former club. Wolves have money to spend, and if Eddie Howe decides to cash in on the player this month due to his lack of impact on his squad, then Santo could be at the front of the queue. Wolves have invested heavily in foreign imports this season, so Santo would jump at the opportunity to sign an English talent capable of dramatically improving his side. If Afobe is allowed to leave by Bournemouth, Wolves must ensure he joins their Premier League charge.
