Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking to bring in Fortuna Dusseldorf striker Kenan Karaman as a replacement for Raul Jimenez, according to reports.
Karaman on Molineux radar
The West Midlands outfit will have to cope without their star Mexican striker after he suffered a horrific head injury during their 2-1 victory against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium at the end of last month (via BBC Sport).
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were offered the opportunity to sign former FC Porto star Hulk but turned him down to his eye-watering wage demands (via Football Insider).
As a cheaper alternative, Fussball Transfers (via Sport Witness) revealed that Wolves have identified Karaman as the man to fill Jimenez’s shoes.
Transfer Tavern Verdict
That being said, Wolves need to add attacking reserves, but adding a cheaper option from a player playing in the second tier of German football may not be the way to approach it.
Time will tell what funds are at Nuno’s disposal once the January transfer window opens its doors.
