Wolves should look at signing Andre Silva

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been rather impressive in their first season back in the top-flight of English football, with a European spot well within their reach.

The Midlands club have secured a number of astonishing transfer moves over the past couple of years, including the likes of Ruben Neves, Rui Patricio and Joao Moutinho.

But, they could secure one of their biggest swoops yet with the help of super agent Jorge Mendes.

Wolves had their eyes on Andre Silva back in the summer transfer window but nothing came of the reported interest as he ended up moving on loan to Spanish side Sevilla.

Indeed, the Portuguese forward was given the highest of praise from international team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo back in 2017, as according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Goal.com), Ronaldo had this to say about Silva:

“When I retire, Portugal will be in good hands because they have already found a great striker: Andre Silva,”

This just goes to show the amount of faith that Ronaldo has in his international strike partner, which should provide Wolves with the incentive to go out and make a move for the striker.

It’s safe to say that the 23-year-old is living up to the hype in the current campaign, having produced 10 goals and two assists, including a number of impressive performances in Europe.

Indeed, it will be much easier for the Midlands club to secure his services in the summer months as he’s currently on loan at Sevilla. And, with Silva currently one of Jorge Mendes’ clients, perhaps the super agent can play a big hand in helping Wolves secure a move for the Portugal international, having aided a number of Wolves signings already.

Nuno Espirito Santo currently only has Raul Jimenez at his disposal at the pinnacle of the attack, and it’s safe to say that the Mexican hasn’t exactly been prolific, despite establishing himself as one of their star men.

So, Wolves’ attack will start to thrive if they can secure the services of Silva as he has shown that he can produce a solid amount of goals in one of Europe’s most difficult leagues. And, at 23 years of age he still has plenty of potential and has already received praise from one of the world’s best, so it’s a no-brainer for Wolves.
