Wolves are all set more or less for life in the Premier League this term after picking up another win in the Championship this weekend to further enhance their promotion credentials.
The Championship league leaders have been superb over the course of the season following two summers of big money moves, and with a big summer likely to be on the horizon in terms of spending, a lot of the Wolves fans here in the Tavern are predicting big things.
Our landlord though has been thinking about experienced heads rather than big money signings, and one player he thinks the club could swoop for is Chelsea and England defender Gary Cahill, who has been out of favour for the Blues for much of this season.
Cahill has been a class act at the Bridge for nigh on a decade now, and has the experience and knowhow needed to be a vital cog in the Wolves survival fight.
Much like his former teammate John Terry, who has had an impact in the Midlands with rivals Aston Villa, Cahill could be looking for some regular first time football in the final few years of his career.
Cahill would bring a steady head to a back three which has at times looked shaky in the Championship, and with Wolves no doubt making plenty of other big name and money signings during the summer months, the signature of someone like Cahill could well trump them all.
Wolves fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
