Wolves' season is going pretty well at the moment, with the Midlanders putting in some excellent displays so far to show just why they can mix it in the top flight.

Manager Nuno Santo really seems to have the buy in of his squad on the whole, and he will be hopeful of guiding his team well clear of any sort of relegation battle as the season continues into 2019.

However, there is definitely room for improvement in the squad at Molinuex, and despite a massive influx of foreign players into the ranks in recent years, we here at the Transfer Tavern think that the club could look closer to home in search of some quality additions.

And one man we think fits the mould is Sheffield United defender Jack O'Connell, who has been superb for the Blades once more this term as Chris Wilder's men look at winning promotion themselves.

The former Brentford man has developed into one of the finest defenders in the Championship over the last 12 months, and his value will have sky rocketed, with Premier League interest bound to be prevalent.

However, he would fit right in at Wolves, who similar to United, play a back three and expect their defenders to be able to join in with play, very much like O'Connell does at United.

The Blades won't want to lose O'Connell, but he is a superb defender who can improve even more, and Wolves would be getting themselves an excellent young defender if they can complete his signing.

Wolves fans, what do you think? Is this a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
