Wolves taking an interest in Moritz Bauer

Wolverhampton Wanderers could look to add a right-back to their ranks in the January transfer window.

Nuno Espirito Santo has seen his side play well in the first half of the Premier League season, however, it appears he is keen to strengthen his side further this winter.

And, it seems an experienced defender is on his radar as a possible transfer target.

According to a report by The Daily Telegraph, Stoke City’s Moritz Bauer is a person of interest for the Molineux outfit.

It is claimed Nuno could look to bring the right-back to Wolves on a temporary deal.

The Austria international was out of favour under Gary Rowett and his future under Nathan Jones remains unclear.

Having arrived at The Potters last January, Bauer played a role in their Premier League campaign last season but has not featured in the Championship since September.

The Verdict:

Matt Doherty has been impressing for Wolves this season, however, Bauer would certainly be a great addition to the squad.

The Austrian would be able to offer some experienced of playing in the division, whilst he would also be a perfect individual to provide cover and competition to the team.

What Stoke intend to do with him remains to be seen, however, with Wolves being able to offer him Premier League football again, a move could possibly be on the cards this January.
