Sir Alex Ferguson was happy to get the three points, but felt that his side’s performance at Molineux was not as good as the scoreline suggests.
“Absolutely, the last three visits we have lost twice, and that is a great turnaround for us,” he told Sky Sports.
“It [performance] was okay, I don’t think it was anything special. I think as you always find here Wolves make it difficult for you, it was an okay performance.
“It’s difficult for them with ten men, they were honest and committed and kept plugging away but the 3-0
De Gea – 6 An absolute spectator
Ferdinand – 7 Won’t have a more comfortable afternoon
Evans – 7 Got his first goal for United and was solid at the back
Rafael – 6 Managed to get forward well down the right
Evra – 6 Didn’t have much to do as the main Wolves threat was on the opposite flank
Valencia – 9 (Star Man) A danger every time he got the ball and ran at the defence. Scored a fantastic goal on the counter and set up Welbeck’s goal and Hernandez’s second with precise crosses for both
Scholes – 7 Quiet but controlled in possession as always
Carrick – 7 Set up the first goal with an intelligent pull back from a Rooney corner
Welbeck –7 Did well coming in from the left hand side. Drifted in from his flank and finished smartly past an exposed Wayne Hennessy
Rooney –7 Dropped off the frontline into the space at the correct times. His pass set Valencia away for United’s second goal
Hernandez- 8 Worked tirelessly all afternoon. The marking for his 1st was nowhere to be seen and he easily nodded into the Wolves net. His 2nd came after slick interchange between Welbeck and Valencia.
