Ambition is definitely a word you can associate with Wolverhampton Wanderers. The club made a number of high-profile swoops in the summer and have managed to shock plenty of onlookers with how well they have performed in the Premier League this season.
However, it appears one transfer target is not completely convinced about how ambitious Nuno Espirito Santo’s side really are and that could make it difficult for Wolves to bring him to Molineux in the summer.
What’s the News?
Calciomercato are claiming Andre Silva is not keen on the idea of joining the Premier League outfit as he does not feel they match his own personal ambitions.
Wolves are understood to be ‘insistent’ on trying to convince him that a move to the club would be in his best interests, however, the AC Milan forward, who is on loan at Sevilla, isn’t playing ball.
Silva’s suggestion that Wolves are not ambitious enough to match his own desires appears to be rather ludicrous when you look at how things have turned out.
Nobody would have been expecting the Molineux outfit to be challenging for a seventh-place finish in the Premier League in their first season back in the top-flight, whilst they already have a number of quality players at the club.
If a deal is to be successfully completed, Wolves may have to look to their connection with Jorge Mendes and use the agent’s help to try and get something across the line. The ‘super agent’ enjoys a great relationship with the club and would be in a great position to tell his client how ambitious Nuno’s side are and what it could do for his career.
The 23-year-old’s time in football has not gone as well as it originally looked, as his time at Milan has been far from the best, although he has started to find his shooting boots once again at Sevilla.
Wolves will be keen to add firepower to their ranks in the summer, especially since they managed to get a permanent deal for Raul Jimenez completed.
Wolves fans, what do you make of Silva’s claims? Do you think Mendes can convince him to join you at Molineux? Do you think he would fit in at the club? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
