Many Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have flocked to a tweet from The Athletic’s Wolves reporter Tim Spiers in which he provided an update on the possibility of the West Midlands club signing either Christian Eriksen or Diego Costa.
This comes after Wolves have been linked with both Eriksen and Costa, however, per Spiers, it would seem that those players are unlikely to move to Molineux, with the journalist sharing that he’s been told the players’ wages would probably prove to be a major stumbling block for the Old Gold.
So, how have these Wolves fans been reacting to Spiers’ tweet?
This update from Spiers drew a negative reaction from many fans of the Old Gold. Some Wolves fans indicated that they are disappointed to learn that their club is seemingly unlikely to sign either of these two players, while some supporters of the West Midlands club slated Wolves’ ambition in response to Spiers’ post.
“If Wolves have ambition of top 6, they will have to pay big wages. Otherwise let’s all forget it and stop pretending we are aiming for top 4 or 6”
“Sorry but this is a disgrace, since Raul was ruled out things should have been in place and targets identified ready before 1st Jan, Shi needs a someone with football knowledge helping him out”
“Fosun lied about the ambitions they have. We won’t get anywhere with owners who aren’t willing to spend big on big players”
“This year is already pathetic. One day of positive news, that’s all I ask.”
“Got no ambition then”
Who would be a better signing for Wolves?
