Wolverhampton Wanderers look well-equipped to avoid relegation from the Premier League next year.

Wolves cruised to the Championship title last season to earn promotion to the Premier League for the first time since 2012. Nuno Espirito Santo worked wonders with his squad but now faces the biggest challenge of his career as he looks to beat the drop next year. With every club spending big this summer, staying up will be harder than ever.

The Portuguese has also splashed the cash this summer, spending £63m on recruits to help Wolves secure their safety in the Premier League. After making a number of loans permanent, Wolves landed Monaco midfielder, Joao Moutinho, for just £5m before breaking their transfer record to sign Adama Traore from Middlesbrough. With only one day left in the transfer window, Wolves could use one more signing.

Someone they should consider is Arsenal attacker – Danny Welbeck. Valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, the England international has failed to impress at the Emirates after leaving Manchester United in 2014. New boss Unai Emery does not see him in his plans and will allow the forward to depart according to reports.

Welbeck made 28 appearances in the Premier League last season, but 16 came from the bench. He netted five goals and registered two assists to earn a place in England’s World Cup squad. However, he played just 11 minutes of football in Russia as the Three Lions reached the semi-final.

The 27-year-old is a quick, intelligent forward who would add another dimension to the Wolves attack. He has a vast amount of Premier League experience which could prove crucial to their survival bid.

If the price is right, this one is a no-brainer.
