Wolves fans will be over the moon as they watched their side battle from one goal down to defeat Tottenham at Wembley on the weekend.

The Midlands club fell behind as a result of a wonderful strike from distance from Harry Kane which left Rui Patricio helpless. Wolves stuck to their game plan and started the second-half brightly, deserving their equaliser when Willy Boly headed home from a corner. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were ahead moments later with Raul Jimenez squeezing the ball past Hugo Lloris before Helder Costa wrapped up the points in the closing stages.

Victory moves Wolves to seventh in the Premier League following an excellent start the season, just three points behind Manchester United. Wolves fans will now be dreaming of Europe, a very realistic aim given how Wolves have performed thus far. Some quality additions in the January transfer window could send the Molineux faithful on a European tour next season.

A brilliant signing would be PSV Eindhoven playmaker – Gaston Pereiro. Valued at £12.6m by Transfermarkt, the Uruguay international has been a mainstay for the Dutch side since leaving his homeland for Holland back in 2015. Pereiro has hit double figures for goals in every Eredivisie season he has participated in and has been in fine form yet again during the current campaign.

The 23-year-old already has eight league goals to his name as well as registering three assists for his team-mates. The playmaker primarily operates through the centre but can also be used on the right wing. With excellent technical ability, an eye for goal and the vision to carve open defences, Pereiro has all the attributes to be a success in the Premier League and the final piece of the puzzle for Nuno.

Still developing and improving – this move would be an astute piece of business.
