Wolves have been credited with an interest in Paris St Germain winger – Goncalo Guedes.

Eager to bolster their squad ahead of the Premier League campaign, Wolves are reportedly interested in signing the Portuguese winger this summer. Guedes has fallen out of favour in Paris, and the French champions reportedly want £53m to allow him to leave. That sum of money would smash Wolves’ transfer record so a loan move may be a better option.

Valued at £36m by Transfermarkt, Guedes moved to Paris back in January 2017 after impressing for Benfica. PSG paid £27m to bring him to Ligue 1, but he was loaned to Valencia due to Kylian Mbappe’s arrival in the capital.

The 21-year-old was reinvigorated in La Liga, making 33 appearances, scoring five and assisting nine. His performances meant Valencia were interested in signing him permanently but were deterred by the huge price tag set by the Parisians.

With Valencia out of the race, Wolves should make their move. Guedes is represented by Jorge Mendes, who has close ties to Molineux. The agent was enormously influential in helping Wolves secure the signatures of Ruben Neves and Rui Patricio and could work his magic again to bring Guedes to the Premier League.

Wolves could offer the youngster regular first-team football in the Premier League, and PSG may be interested in offloading his wages for a season. If Wolves could secure a loan deal with an option to buy, it would be a masterstroke by Nuno Espirito Santo.
