Wolves are preparing themselves for the summer transfer window where star attacker Adama Traore could be at the centre of ‘record-breaking’ bids from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The Telegraph report that Wolves are braced for a flurry of offers for the 24-year-old winger who this season has emerged as one of the club’s most important players, with the former Middlesbrough forward already scoring five goals and assisting 10 for the Molineux side this campaign (per Transfermarkt)
The report states that several clubs with money to spend are keen on singing wide-forward in the summer window, with Traore an obvious target for numerous teams given his physicality and impressive dribbling stats for Wolves (per WhoScored).
With 90min claiming last month that Wolves would listen to offers at the £70m range for Traore, it could well take a club-record bid for Nuno Espirito Santo to let go of one of his start players, and the Spanish attacker could be seen as risk big clubs would be willing to gamble on based on his achievements this season.
Is Adama Traore a £100m player?
As stats from WhoScored show, the Premier League winger is averaging more dribbles per 90 out of anyone else in the division, and by a considerable margin too with Wilfried Zaha (4.8) the closest competitor to Traore (5.5) this season, and this ability could be seen as a prized commodity for clubs willing to spend big on wide-forwards.
Traore has come into his own this season by developing a finishing touch to his game that has been somewhat lacking in his earlier years in the Premier League, and whilst the Spaniard’s form could see Wolves finish in a European spot, it will only drive his demand up higher.
The attacker has been essential to Nuno’s system, and although the Portuguese manager could be resigned to losing Traore in the summer, an offer of £70m or higher will just be too good for the club to turn down.
