Reports suggest that Wolves are keeping track of Aberdeen defender, Scott McKenna, with a view to a January transfer.
The 21-year-old has been performing admirably for the Dons in the SPFL and has attracted plenty of attention from England as a result. Aston Villa bid for the defender on deadline day but Aberdeen were unwilling to sell so late into the window. Reports now claim that Wolves are watching the defender hoping to sign him in January.
If Nuno Espirito Santo wants to add a defender to his squad, then he should consider a move for Inter Milan defender, Miranda, instead. Valued at £7.2m by Transfermarkt, the Brazil international has been a mainstay in the Inter side since joining the club from Atletico Madrid in 2015. However, with players such as Milan Skriniar making waves in the first-team and less than one year remaining on his contract – he could surely be tempted into a move to England.
The 34-year-old, who won a La Liga title during his time in Spain, is a vastly experienced defender who could give Wolves exactly what they need to secure European football in the second half of the season. With over 50 caps for the Brazilian national team, his knowledge could be of great benefit to Wolves’ current defenders while adding a quality option to the back four. Miranda is great with the ball at his feet, completing 88% of his passes in the Serie A last season (WhoScored), meaning he should slot seamlessly into the Portuguese’s system at Molineux.
Potentially available for free or at a great price, this move could prove to be a masterstroke.
