Wolverhampton Wanderers have set high standards in the current campaign as they continue to work towards securing a European spot at Molineux.

The Midlands club invested in a number of quality players back in the summer transfer window, and it's safe to say that the vast majority of them have had a positive impact in one way or another.

But, with a number of other teams also in the race for a European spot this season, the race could come down to who manages to complete the best business this month.

Nuno Espirito Santo could do with strengthening at the heart of the defence and at the pinnacle of the attack at some point this month, as Leo Bonatini has failed to provide support for Raul Jimenez and Kortney Hause recently joined Aston Villa on loan, so they're light on numbers at the back.

Interestingly, one player who Wolves should think long and hard about securing is Chelsea's Andreas Christensen. The Danish international has struggled to work his way into Maurizio Sarri's plans this season, which has opened the door for a potential loan exit in the January transfer window.

Christensen has plenty of potential and has already shown that he can deliver quality performances on a consistent basis, both in Europe and in the Premier League for the Blues. He could even give Ryan Bennett a run for his money, as a ball-playing defender who oozes class on the field.

Another player who Wolves should be looking at is FC Porto's Moussa Marega. The Mali international has been prolific once again in the current campaign, having produced 15 goals and six assists at this moment in time. His main attributes are his strength, goalscoring ability and pace, which is helped by his 6ft frame.

Marega and Christensen could easily send Wolves into the Europa League. The forward has shown that he can produce an impressive amount of goals and has excelled against some of the world's best defenders in the Champions League, so he would provide the perfect support for Jimenez.

Meanwhile, Christensen has plenty of experience already in Europe and in the Premier League, which would boost a Wolves defence that already has the fifth-best defensive record in the top-flight.
