Wolverhampton Wanderers: Fans discuss Jamie Carragher’s verdict on Conor Coady - Wolves

Lots of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans are discussing former Liverpool central defender now pundit Jamie Carragher’s verdict on Conor Coady after he revealed his Premier League team-of-the-season so far.

Incidentally the Wolves man, formerly of Liverpool, did not make Jamie’s selection as he opted for an all Reds defence of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil Van Dijk and Andrew Robertson, as per Sky Sports.

However, the 42-year old did think that Coady deserved a mention, and claimed that the Englishman is as good as anybody alongside van Dijk in terms of passing out from the back.

Comparing both defender’s passing stats in the top flight this campaign, the Dutchman averages more passes at a higher success rate, but Coady plays more long balls and both average 0.2 key passes and 0.1 through balls per match, according to Whoscored.

One Wanderers supporter claims that Coady is ‘overlooked by Southgate‘ for England, and comparing his stats to Joe Gomez, Harry Maguire and Tyrone Mings in the top flight this term, the 29-year old averages more tackles in addition to long and through balls, as per the same website.

These WWFC fans discussed Carragher’s comments on Twitter:

Then went on to pick joe Gomez ahead of him in the team of the season
