Plenty of Wolves fans were delighted to hear that the club’s official YouTube channel will show the 5-1 victory over Nottingham Forest in 2008/09 on Monday night, with several players from that season reminiscing about the game.
As noted by wolves.co.uk and shared on Twitter via @Wolves, many of the players who featured in that game from the early weeks of the Championship-winning season will share their memories from that pleasurable day at Molineux 12 years ago.
Michael Kightly was among the standout performers in that game in August 2008 with two goals and was joined on the scoresheet by David Jones and Chris Iwelumo, with a Wes Morgan own goal also contributing to the emphatic victory (as per BBC). Kightly, Jones and Iwelumo will be accompanied by Richard Stearman, Kevin Foley, Karl Henry and Matt Jarvis in recounting the game when it is shown in full on Wolves’ YouTube channel on Monday night at 8pm.
These Wolves fans on Twitter are likely to be among the viewers, judging by their reactions to the club’s tweet – one supporter referred to the hammering of Nottingham Forest as a “Michael Kightly masterclass“:
4-0 up at halftime……what a feeling that was!

Possibly the best 1st half of football from a Wolves team I’ve ever seen
