March 22 1995 was a very special day for both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace but while one club was celebrating like crazy, the other had to bow out of the FA Cup in the quarter-finals of the competition.
Wolves hosted the Eagles at Molineux and, unfortunately for them, suffered a big 4-1 defeat as their guests couldn’t stop scoring goals with each and every one seemingly proving better than the other.
It was truly a remarkable night for Palace and their troops and a rather gloomy one for the home team but Tim Spiers still managed to find solace in one thing despite such a heavy defeat for his team. He mentioned on his Twitter profile how all of the goals were of such great quality that it managed to take away a bit of pain of being eliminated from the competition.
Sometimes, you just have to stand up and applaud the opposition for being that good…
The ridiculous quality of these goals took away some of the pain of an FA Cup QF defeat…they were just too good.
Also, Thommo realising he won't reach the ball after the 4th goal 😂 https://t.co/vswSaIby9O
