Wolves absolutely should offer Anfield outcast another crack at the Premier League this summer

Wolverhampton Wanderers fans in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait for the Premier League season to begin to see their favourite players back in action.

Wolves were a runaway success in the Championship, lifting the title and securing a return to the Premier League. With their new owners bankrolling their success and super-agent Jorge Mendes bringing high-profile players to the club, our punters are confident the good times will continue in England’s top division. They welcome Everton to Molineux on the first day of the season.

Nuno Espirito Santo has wasted no time in revamping his squad, spending £42m in the transfer window already; only Liverpool, Manchester United and Leicester City have spent more. The Portuguese sealed permanent moves for Diogo Jota, Willy Boly and Leo Bonatini as well as landing Rui Patricio on a free transfer from Sporting Lisbon.

One area Wolves could look to improve is left-back. The perfect signing could be Liverpool’s, Alberto Moreno. Valued at £9m by Transfermarkt, Moreno looked destined for an exit last summer before earning a place in the first-team. But following the emergence of Andy Robertson, he slipped down the pecking order again and looks unlikely to displace the Scot.

It’s time for Moreno to move on to greener pastures and get his career back on track. Wolves would be the perfect destination. He would slot seamlessly into the back line and give the newly-promoted side a threat from the back. If he can cut out mistakes, he could prove to be a great signing.
