Wolves have excited fans all summer following their strong summer of recruitment after waltzing to the Championship title last season.

Ruben Neves netted their first Premier League goal of the season with a wonderful free-kick after Phil Jagielka was dismissed. Richarlison gave the Toffees the lead before new signing Raul Jimenez netted home the equaliser. Wolves face a tricky away trip to Leicester in their next match.

Nuno Espirito Santo strengthened his squad significantly in the summer transfer window as Wolves look to establish themselves in the Premier League. The Portuguese signed a number of their key loan players to permanent contracts as well as adding the likes of Rui Patricio and Joao Moutinho to his ranks. Despite the window slamming shut, Wolves can still dip into the free agent market.

One man they should consider signing is former winger – Bakary Sako. Valued at £4.5m by Transfermarkt, the 30-year-old is available for nothing after his contract expired at Crystal Palace – the club he joined from Wolves three years ago. Sako made over 50 appearances for the Eagles but an injury cut short his season in February.

His best form came at Molineux – he scored 15 goals and notched seven assists back in 2015. If he can stay fit, he would be an excellent addition to the squad. With Ivan Cavaleiro reportedly sidelined for the foreseeable future, Sako would add some much-needed cover to the flanks.

Available for free, this is a move Wolves definitely need to make.
