Loads of Wolves fans have been reacting to the imminent signing of Enzo Loiodice, with The Athletic’s Tim Spiers reporting that the 19-year-old is close to joining the club on an initial loan deal.
The Midlands outfit will have the option to buy at the end of the loan, however, if that does not happen, it does not look like too many supporters will be disappointed. Going off Twitter, some currently seem underwhelmed with the likely signing, suggesting that he will go straight into the U23 side as opposed to the first team.
Signing players for the U23s has been a common practice at Wolves of late, with the likes of Meritan Shabani, Nigel Lonwijk and Cyriaque Mayounga Ngolou all recently joining the club. Perhaps, though, Loiodice could add something to Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.
In the five Ligue 1 appearances the Frenchman has made this season, he has managed to average a pass success rate of 83.2% (via WhoScored). That figure is actually quite close to the highest average in the Wolves squad, 85.2%, which belongs to both Joao Moutinho and Leander Dendoncker. So maybe Loiodice could have some purpose after all, coming in to help retain possession.
Here is what Wolves fans have had to say:
