Wolves: Fans hail Ruben Vinagre after win over FC Pyunik

Last night, Wolves enjoyed a second 4-0 victory over FC Pyunik in the space of eight days to seal their place in the Europa League play-offs and, following the match, Ruben Vinagre tweeted his delight at the result.

The 20-year-old was among the scorers for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team at Molineux, netting the third goal after some excellent build-up play by Adama Traore to set up the chance.

That was the Portugal youth international‘s second goal of the Europa League qualifying campaign, having also scored in the 2-0 home win over Crusaders in the previous round.

Remarkably, Vinagre had only scored once in 34 appearances for Wolves prior to the start of this season, but has already netted twice in four games in 2019/20.

The left-sided player was restricted to 17 Premier League appearances last season, 10 of which came from the bench, with Jonny often preferred at left-back as he started 32 league games.

Vinagre did not feature in last weekend’s Premier League trip to Leicester, with Jonny named in the left-back slot, although his early season goalscoring contribution should help his cause to feature more regularly in the coming months.

These Wolves fans took to Twitter to express their delight with the Portuguese youngster’s display against FC Pyunik:
