Wolves: Fans left stunned by news of Romain Saiss’ impending departure

Wolves midfielder Romain Saiss is on the verge of leaving the club to sign for Besiktas, according to reports from Turkey.

According to Beyaz TV [via Sporx.com], Wolves have reached an agreement with the Turkish club for the 29-year-old, news that was relayed by @TalkingWolves on Twitter.

The Morocco international joined Wolves in 2016 from Angers in Ligue 1 and has made exactly 100 appearances for the club, scoring six goals in that time.

However, he found it difficult to break into Nuno Espirito Santo’s line-up last season, having started just 12 Premier League games following 37 starts in the promotion-winning 2017/18 Championship campaign.

In his century of appearances for the club, Saiss has been booked no fewer than 31 times, although he has never been sent off in his career.

The midfielder played for just nine minutes of Wolves’ first Premier League match of the season against Leicester last week but has featured in all four of their Europa League qualifying games so far and played the full 90 minutes of both legs of the third qualifying round win over FC Pyunik.

While he may not have been a regular presence in the starting line-up at Molineux in recent months, these Wolves fans were nonetheless aghast at the news of his likely departure:
