The fixture will take place in the week commencing Monday September 23rd, which falls in between two Europa League group stage matchweeks if Wolves make it to that stage of the continental competition.
Wolves have been knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the third round stage in three of the last four seasons, two of which were against Championship opposition (Newcastle in 2016/17, Middlesbrough in 2015/16).
Last season they eliminated a Championship side in the second round, beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-0, before losing on penalties to fellow Premier League club Leicester in round three.
