Wolves: Fans react to Nuno’s January transfer plea after Newcastle United draw

Wolves are still searching for their first win of 2020 after slumping to a 1-1 draw against Newcastle at Molineux. Indeed, Leander Dendoncker scored their goal to equalise in the first half after Miguel Almiron opened the scoring though, worryingly, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side haven’t won in their last four games since defeating Manchester City.

Their lean run has left them eight points adrift of Chelsea in fourth place and face a replay against Manchester United to progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup. Having failed to add all that many players during the summer window in 2019, it could be suggested that their squad is a little stretched right now.

Wolves’ season started back in July with Europa League qualifiers and perhaps the squad is now feeling the effects of that run. Four academy graduates, including Morgan Gibbs-White, were named on the bench for the game against Newcastle, after all.

In his post-match interview posted on the club’s official website, he stated that the club needs to bring in reinforcements in January, something that the fans agree with.
