Wolves: Fans send birthday greetings to Barry Douglas

Former Wolves defender Barry Douglas yesterday celebrated his 30th birthday and the club’s official Twitter channel @Wolves marked the occasion with a video clip of one of the player’s goals.

The clip in question was that of a sumptuous free kick that the Scotland international scored at Molineux against Leeds, whom he joined from Wolves last year, during the 2017/18 season.

That was the only season in which Douglas was at Wolves, but he still made 42 appearances in total for the club, 39 of which came during their promotion-winning Championship campaign. [via]

He ended that season with five goals and an impressive 15 assists, the latter figure the highest of anyone in the Wolves squad in 2017/18, and his performances that season led to him getting his first Scotland call-up, and subsequently his national team debut, in March 2018.
