Wolves loan watch: Ivan Cavaleiro subbed in Fulham win, Will Norris enjoys clean sheet, Leo Bonatini restricted to cameo appearances

In our Loan Watch feature series, the Football Transfer Tavern takes a look at how a selection of players from a particular club are faring whilst they are away from their parent side, and provide a brief update regarding their form.

This week, we look at three men on loan from Wolves – a goalkeeper who is starting to make his presence felt, a winger who has consistently maintained his starting place and a striker hoping to feature more regularly.

Ivan Cavaleiro

Ivan Cavaleiro was in Fulham’s starting line-up for the 15th time in 16 Championship games this season as the Cottagers beat Birmingham 1-0 at St Andrew’s on Saturday.

The 26-year-old winger won three tackles, the joint-most of any Fulham player on the day, and also made two interceptions. [via WhoScored]

However, he was substituted in the 66th minute for Josh Onomah after completing just 14 passes out of 20 for a 70% success rate, his second-lowest of the season so far.

Will Norris

Goalkeeper Will Norris has now started three games in a row for Ipswich after twice featuring in the last week.

He kept a clean sheet in the 1-0 win at Rochdale in League One in midweek, making one save at Spotland in his second league start of the season.

He was also in Paul Lambert’s team for the 1-1 draw against Lincoln in the FA Cup first round on Saturday, being beaten by Tyler Walker during the first half but pulling off two saves. [via TransferMarkt]

Leo Bonatini

Leo Bonatini continues to find it tough to break into Vitoria de Guimaraes’ starting line-up, having been on from the first whistle only five times this season.

He came off the bench for the final eight minutes of the 1-1 draw against Arsenal in the Europa League last week and had time to register one shot and win one header.

He was then handed a 21-minute substitute appearance in Sunday’s 0-2 defeat at home to Braga in the Primeira Liga, again firing off one shot as his team remained fifth in the table.

Norris’ run of games for Ipswich, along with his first League One clean sheet in the win at Rochdale, is the major positive this week from a Wolves perspective.

It’s also good to see Cavaleiro maintaining his established place in Fulham’s starting XI, even if he was taken off at the weekend.

Bonatini’s reliance on substitute appearances isn’t very encouraging for him, though, particularly with Raul Jimenez scoring yet again on Sunday for Wolves.
